Q: Can I use my existing hardware and peripheral equipment?
A: Yes. Run Real Time can be run on the older model low end PCs and Internet devices (a "smart" terminal that is a level below PCs in cost and performance). In fact you might require even less equipment then before, because your business is managed by our data center no server is needed at any of your locations – including the main office. Please check that they meet the hardware specifications listed on our website under “Hardware Specifications”. Q: In terms of Internet connectivity, what are the minimal requirements?
A: While a dial-up connection will be possible for remote access, such as home, hotel, etc., for an store, headquarters and warehouse, ISDN, DSL and cable modems are recommended. Check with your local providers for availability.

Q: What if I lose my internet service?
A: The most prevalent risk is not being able to access your data if your Internet connection is down. We suggest that you have a dial-up Internet connection available in your office in the event your main connection is lost. We have found that Internet reliability is very good and this should be a minimal problem.

A: RunIt can run at just one store or at multiple stores. Our Real Time Solution, however, is designed to scale should your retail operation begin to grow into multiple locations.

Q: How long can I keep the customer history?
A: You decide how long to keep your history and when to purge it. You can easily keep the history on file for 3, 5, or even more than 10 years. When you are ready to archive , you can tell the system to remove all history older than a given number of years and months.

Q: Are there limits to the number of stores, items, customers, vendors, brands, etc. that I can input?
A: Run…It Real Time can support an unlimited number of data entries. Our servers always have enough disk space to support any number of items, customers, etc.

Q: How long are my files kept?
A: An unchanged file will be kept indefinitely. But, file retention can be affected by how often a file is updated. Up to three iterations of a file will be retained by successive backups. If a file is updated again, the oldest version will be discarded when the next scheduled Run…It Real Time backup occurs. If you need to keep multiple versions of a file (i.e., more than three versions) be sure to contact Run…It.

If you preference is a non integrated credit card solution there will be no need to change your existing service agreement. Q: If I have an old POS system, can I import its data into Run…It Real Time?
A: Most of the time, yes you can! If your Point of sale system can export data, or we can access the data files, we can help you import much of your critical data. But because every Point of sale system is different, the time to pull your old data into the *right* place in RunIt Real Time can vary greatly. We offer data transfer as an add-on service and will quote you on how long we think it will take.

A: Provided you import your barcode numbers along with the product information, we can link them into our system so that when you scan your old barcodes, we can recognize them and relate them to the new numbers.

A: Yes you can. It's your data. Q: Can RunIt Real Time handle foreign currencies?
A: Yes. You can define multiple foreign currencies to be accepted by your store and the exchange rate for each type in RunIt Real Time tender type window. When the customer pays in foreign currencies, RunIt will automatically convert the tendering amount into local currency. The Daily Activity report also summarizes the money collected for each foreign currency type.

A: Yes. RunIt Real Time gives you the option to generate purchase orders manually or automatically based on re-order criteria or items sold during a specified period. You can generate purchase orders for all items in the database, selected departments, categories, or vendors and brands.

Q: I want to have an item priced at $0.30 each, but 4 at $1.00. Can RunIt Real Time do that?
A: Yes. You can define how RunIt Real Time will handle pricing and quantity discounts for each item in your inventory. In the cited example, you can even define what RunIt Real Time will do when someone buys 6 of the item. You can set Run…It Real Time to charge the first 4 at $1.00 ($0.25 each), and the remaining 2 will be charged at $0.30 each or at $0.25 each
