An unchanged file will be kept indefinitely. However, file retention can be affected by how often a file is updated. Up to three iterations of a file will be retained by successive backups. You decide how long to keep your history and when to purge it. You can easily keep the history on file for 3, 5, or even more than 10 years. When you are ready to archive , you can tell the system to remove all history older than a given number of years and months.
